Just three short weeks away is the premier of Baz Luhrmann's much anticipated adaptation of The Great Gatsby. If you have never seen one of Luhrmann's adapted masterpieces (Romeo & Juliet + Moulin Rouge) this is the film to see. I recently re-read this classic F. Scott Fizgerald novel to prepare for the premier of this film --a premier that has been postponed multiple times-- and I could not be more excited. I expect nothing but magic, whimsy, opulence and pure revelry.
In the May issue of Vogue magazine, Mario Testino was able to finally share his breathtaking photographs of Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan; the muse and obsession of Jay Gatsby. These photographs give us a glimpse into the beauty and inspiration that this film will be filled with. Feathers, sequins, pearls, satin and glamour.
I hope you were inspired by these photographs as much as I was. As the film's debut at the Festival de Cannes approaches, I will be sharing more Gatsby inspiration with you all. *All photographs by Mario Testino for Vogue
