local flowers

I love flowers and when I say love, I mean that flowers put an instant smile on my face.  Naturally, when it came to my own wedding, flowers were something that I cared a lot about.  Upon researching florists I was overwhelmed by the lack of creativity and the expense of most of the florists in the area.  Most of the talented and creative florists in this area were out of my budget.  I assumed picking out my wedding flowers would be how it was in the movies, I would go to the florists and hand select and arrange the flowers and then say "okay, now make 13 of these for our centerpieces."   That was not how it was and mostly because the flowers I wanted for my wedding were not available locally in November.  Purchasing local flowers can greatly cut your floral costs-like in half- so if you are getting married in Maine during the summer through early fall, purchasing your flowers from a local farm is a great way to cut costs and incorporate some of the local environment into your wedding design.  Most of the below farms offer arranging services, but they also allow for people to purchase bulk cut flowers if you want to arrange the flowers yourself (or ask for help from family and friends.)
