presidents' day

Happy Presidents' Day!  For many people in the United States, today marks a holiday and a day off.  Originally established as a national holiday to celebrate the birthday of President George Washington, which actually falls on February 22,  the holiday became popularly known as Presidents' Day in 1971.  In this year the holiday was moved to the third Monday in February in accordance with the Uniform Monday Holiday Act (an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation's workers).  While some states still honor Washington's birthday and some calendars list Washington, Lincoln and other presidential birthdays,  today's holiday is now popularly viewed as the day to celebrate all U.S presidents, past and present. Even though today is not a holiday for everyone, I thought it would be fun to have a presidential-themed post lined up for you all.  Below are some of my favorite photographs from presidential weddings.
